TarJoom helps you translate local and remote conversations with fast captions first and optional spoken playback.
What TarJoom does
TarJoom is a low-cost live translation companion for in-person and remote conversations. It creates fast translated captions first, with optional spoken playback when it is helpful.
It is designed for practical conversation support, not as a replacement for professional simultaneous interpretation.
Choose your mode
- Local Interpreter: use one device for an in-person conversation.
- Remote Room: use the interpreter alongside Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, or another call.
For best results, use a quiet room, speak clearly, and use headphones whenever spoken playback is enabled.
Local Interpreter
Use local mode when two people are physically near the same device and want translated captions.
-
1.
Open the local interpreter page.
-
2.
Open Settings and choose the two conversation languages
-
3.
Press Start.
-
4.
Speak naturally. Translated captions appear in the chat.
-
5.
Turn Speech on only when spoken playback is useful.
- Open the local interpreter page.
- Open Settings and choose the two conversation languages.
- Press Start.
- Speak naturally. Translated captions appear in the chat.
- Turn Speech on only when spoken playback is useful.
Tip: if Speech is on, lower the speaker volume or use headphones so the microphone does not capture its own playback.
Remote Room
Remote mode is used alongside your existing meeting tool. Keep Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, or your phone call open for the real conversation. TarJoom adds translated captions and optional speech in a separate browser page.
- The meeting starter opens a remote room and shares the room link.
- The other person opens the same link.
- Each person opens Settings and chooses the language they want to hear and their spoken voice.
- Both people press Start.
- Captions are the default. Turn Speech on only when spoken playback helps.
Best practice: use headphones so your microphone does not capture translated playback or meeting audio.
